Located on Tinharé Island, in the Tinharé Archipelago, Municipality of Cairu, Bahia, Gamboa is the closest beach to the famous shores of Morro de São Paulo, one of Brazil’s most sought-after international destinations, yet it remains calm, authentic, and uncrowded.
Easily accessible in approximately two and a half hours by catamaran from Salvador, Village do Dendê combines convenience with the rare luxury of privacy, in one of Brazil’s most enchanting coastal regions.
Comfortable Arrival
From the pier, a wooden walkway leads directly to Village do Dendê in about ten minutes, providing a flat and easy path to the property, including for senior guests or those with reduced mobility.

The guesthouse and bungalows are set within a 3,000 m² private beachfront garden, framed by coconut palms and ancient dendê palms that give the property its name. A carefully curated botanical garden unfolds around you: orchids, heliconias, bromeliads, hibiscus, and the gentle presence of birdsong in the air.
Here, nature is not a backdrop, it is an essential part of the experience.

Our bungalows (for 2 to 4 guests), inspired by Mondrian’s clean lines and vibrant balance, are designed for rest and simplicity. Each one offers:

Thanks to the beachfront location and the open, airy garden layout, ocean breezes provide continuous natural ventilation, day and night.
Our colonial-style apartments, located in the main house, feature private verandas and open sea views, ideal for enjoying stunning sunsets and starry nights.

The property is ideally located near the local pier, offering easy boat access to Morro de São Paulo both day and night. The crossing is short, calm, and scenic, with waters that are almost always smooth, making the journey as enjoyable as the destination.
Gamboa Beach is wide and flat, with fine white sand, perfect for swimming, long walks, and unhurried days by the sea. Nearby, guests will find charming local restaurants, beach bars, and the famous open-air clay baths, a unique natural wellness ritual of the region.

There are no additional taxes, and cash withdrawal services are available in Morro de São Paulo, which charges an entrance fee for environmental preservation.
Accessibility and Layout
Village do Dendê is set on a completely flat area. The bungalows, garden, and common areas are all located on a single level, ensuring easy mobility for elderly guests or those with specific needs.
The apartments are arranged over two floors and require the use of stairs when in operation; they are currently closed for maintenance.
